Astore district with its headquarter at Eidgah/Gorikot, is comprised of numerous valleys and villages where the prominent ones are Rama, Gorikot, Rehmanpur, Rattu. Bunji, Dashkin and Chilim, amongst others. Of particular note in the District are Nanga Parbat (Rupal Face) Rama Lake, Chilim, Kala Pani, Minimerg, Dambabaho, Domail and Deosai Plains. Shina is local Language while Urdu and English is widely spoken in Astore district.
